Current accessibility capabilities

  • Clear organizationConsistent tabs, familiar Apple controls, short forms, descriptive headings, and explicit actions help reduce cognitive load.
  • Step-by-step helpEvery main feature has a matching tutorial. Labeled Help buttons open the relevant instructions directly.
  • Adjustable in-app textSettings offers Small, Standard, Large, and Extra Large text options.
  • High contrast optionA High Contrast setting is available under Settings, Appearance.
  • Light and dark appearanceThe interface follows the device's light or dark appearance.
  • VoiceOver-friendly structureMost screens use standard Apple buttons, lists, forms, pickers, toggles, headings, and navigation controls. Setup progress and contextual Help controls have descriptive accessibility labels.
  • Information beyond colorHealth information includes written labels and numeric values. Health charts use different symbols as well as different colors.
  • Visible audio statusJournal recording, playback, and saved-audio states are presented visually as well as through labeled controls.
  • No timed tasksImportant setup, editing, and confirmation screens wait for the user to act.

How to use the in-app accessibility settings

    Open Cognitiva.

    Select More, then Settings.

  3. 3

    Under Appearance, choose a text size.

  4. 4

    Turn on High Contrast if it improves readability.

Current limitations

  • The current text-size control does not yet provide the full range of Apple's accessibility Dynamic Type sizes.
  • VoiceOver descriptions for some health sliders and user-added photographs are being improved.
  • Voice Control, Switch Control, Reduce Motion, and sufficient contrast have not yet completed full screen-by-screen verification.
  • User-recorded journal audio does not include automatic transcription or captions.
